I had the honor of painting Free99Fridge newest fridge dedicated to Sandra Bland and located in Clarkston at Refuge Coffee Co . The coffee shop that it’s located at is also a non-profit that employs refugees, dope people. To tie the two non-profits together, the theme of this piece emphasized the diversity of the community in Clarkston so I painted “FREE FOOD” in a bunch of languages. The fridges are free to take from and to donate. I painted for two days and in that time I met some pretty cool people and heard some pretty cool stories. Check em out!
FIND A FRIDGE NEAR YOU
I created this infographic map during the pandemic so people could easily get involved in their community and find a fridge nearby. I then pitched this article idea to CNN and was able to get a story written about free community fridges. These are a few illustrations I did for the article.
